  2. Silicon Overview

Features

1. Layer 2 Closely Connected to Ethereum

â‘  Trustless network environment with high security and decentralization

Silicon is a Layer 2 governed by Ethereum governance. With Silicon, users will be able to experience secure utilization of on-chain assets, as Silicon has created a network environment almost identical to Ethereum, the most secure of all blockchains. In addition, Silicon Network users will be given the opportunity to access massive on-chain liquidity and protocols based on Ethereum.

â‘¡ Providing advanced user experience

Users will be able to use Ethereum's trustless environment on Silicon and transactions will be processed at a much faster pace. This is possible because Silicon (Layer 2) performs transaction execution, and Ethereum (Layer 1) performs consensus and verification. As Silicon improves Ethereum's slow transaction speed and high gas fees, the user experience will be improved.

2. zkEVM Rollup Solution Driven by Polygon CDK

â‘  Polygon CDK

Silicon is an EVM-compatible blockchain that uses Polygon CDK. Polygon CDK is an open source framework for building ZK-based layer 2 blockchains on Ethereum. Silicon built on Polygon CDK has "near-instant finality, unlimited scalability, and unified liquidity" characteristics, and supports a wide range of Web3 ecosystems. The Silicon blockchain can be connected to other blockchains using Polygon CDK, as well as to various companies that provide tools for integration, development, and deployment. This will enable Silicon to build a more comprehensive Web3 ecosystem.

â‘¡ zkEVM Validium

Silicon was built using Polygon CDK and Validium chain architecture. Unlike the previous Rollup, Validium does not save transaction data on L1 network, instead, generates ZK proofs and publishes them as proofs of validity. Transactions executed on the Silicon Network by users are validated off-chain, that is, only the transaction hash is posted, and transaction data is stored off-chain. Validium-solution based Silicon optimizes blockchain scalability while ensuring data integrity.

3. Community-lead Web3 Ecosystem

â‘  Development friendly environment

Silicon is an Ethereum-based layer 2 network with high EVM compatibility. Therefore, Ethereum developers can seamlessly deploy smart contracts, development tools, and wallets that already run on Ethereum to the silicon network at low cost.

Team Silicon believes that a developer-based community is essential for blockchain network growth. Blockchain ecosystem expands as developers share ideas and contribute to projects through mutual validation. Thus, we are developing 'Web3 Quick Starter (tentative name)', a platform that will accelerate the entry of various project developers into the Silicon ecosystem. Developers can easily onboard on Silicon's network using 'Web3 Quick Starter', and Silicon's developer community will be strengthened through various interactions among developers. Details regarding the platform will be released at a later date.

â‘¡ Web3 user friendly environment

The vision of Silicon is to build an ecosystem for Web3, and Telegram will be a partner to realize this vision. Telegram messenger service used by millions of global users, and a social platform closely connected to the TON blockchain network. Moreover, Telegram has developed a web3 infrastructure that allows users to have 'one-click access' to the blockchain ecosystem, and based on this, various blockchain communities operate on Telegram.

Silicon plans to develop various WebApp content based on Telegram in the near future. Telegram users will be able to access blockchain content (games, DeFi, etc.) within the messenger, without having to install separate apps.
